Description

Compound

The active ingredient contains essential oils of thyme, wormwood, coriander and mint oil with a high menthol content.

Application The
essential oils that are part of EcoGard have a pronounced acaricidal and repellent effect against varroatosis, acarapidosis and wax moth. When using Ecoguard, not only the above diseases are eliminated, but also other microorganisms pathogenic for bees. The use of Ekogard does not lead to the emergence of resistant populations of ticks.

Method of administration and dosage
Bee colonies are treated with Ecoguard in the spring (after the first examination of the bee colonies) and in the summer-autumn period (after honey pumping) by placing the preparation strips in the hives. Ecoguard is used at the rate of 2 strips for 10-12 nest frames. In weak families, one strip is suspended between the 3rd and 4th cell frames, in a strong one - one strip between the 3rd and 4th cells, the second - between the 7th and 8th cell frames. For small families and cores (6 frames), one strip in the center of the nest is enough. Leave in the nest from 3 to 30 days, depending on the amount of printed brood, the nesting and the intensity of the mite shedding. In this case, one should take into account the longer prolonged action of EcoGard due to the nature of the evaporation of essential oils, i.e. the concentration of the active substance in the nest remains much longer. If the strips are not very tight and the strips are used for a short time, after removing them from the hive, they should be sealed and reused if necessary.
To fix the strip, you can use a paper clip through which a hairpin (a wooden twig, a piece of thin wire) is threaded and the strip is placed vertically exactly in the center of the street (in its middle part) between the two frames of the bee's nest.
